It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that Dr Rohina Shah, Alumni UMS 1993 and a graduate of Khyber Medical College, passed away last night, in Charlotte North Carolina. She was 46.
She was the sweetest person had ever known as many of you who knew her would testify. She was an extremely loving person.
She completed her MPH after major cancer surgery while raising three young children.
She was full of life until the very end and passed away in sleep surrounded by her husband, all her sisters and her sister in law.
Death is a fact of life but the passing on of young mothers is very hard to grapple with.
Her husband Zafar related to her passing on in the following words of Rumi ,
“Come to the orchard in Spring. There is light and wine, and sweethearts in the pomegranate flowers.
If you do not come, these do not matter. If you do come, these do not matter.”
May Allah SWT bless her with the best forgiveness, and raise her ranks among the dwellers of Janat up Firdous in this holy month of Ramadan and bless her husband, her children and her sisters and brothers with sabr. Ameen Please keep her and the family in your dua.
